What Is Dermal Filler Dissolving?
Hyaluronidase works by breaking down hyaluronic acid-based filler. It can also temporarily break down some of your body's own naturally occurring hyaluronic acid, which will naturally replenish over time.
Results can vary between individuals, and whilst many people require only one session, more than one treatment session may be required to achieve the desired outcome especially where denser/larger deposits are present.
What to Expect:
A full medical history is taken and assessment done. A patch test is done to ensure you do not have an allergy to hyaluronidase. Following a 30 minute observation period, the area will be injected with hyaluronidase and firmly massaged. A cycle of injection and massage will be repeated as required. The enzyme acts immediately but may continue dissolving for up to 2 weeks. Swelling and bruising are both normal and expected, with swelling taking up to 48 hours to settle.
Can I Re-fill After Having Dissolving?
Once the area has fully dissolved and healed you are welcome to come back to the clinic for further treatment.
As filler may continue to dissolve for up to 2 weeks after treatment, lip boosters should be performed no earlier than 2 weeks after dissolving, and dermal filler treatments no earlier than 4 weeks after treatment, subject to clinical assessment. This is to ensure optimal results.
Are There Any Dissolve and Re-fill Packages Available?
Once the area has fully dissolved and healed you are welcome to come back to the clinic for a follow-up treatment. Our packages include:
Dissolving Only: Safe removal of unwanted filler to restore baseline anatomy.
Dissolving & Lip Booster: Removal of migrated lip filler, followed later by our signature Lip Booster conditioning protocol for intense hydration. Lip Booster treatment is done 2-8 weeks following dissolving treatment.
Dissolving & Re-Fill (Up to 1ml / 2ml): Full clearance of old product, followed by fresh filler placement 4-8 weeks after dissolve.

Possible Side Effects
Normal: Mild redness, swelling, tenderness and bruising at the injection sites are common and usually resolve within a few days.
Rare: Temporary unevenness, incomplete filler dissolution, allergic reactions, infection or the need for additional dissolving sessions may occur. These will be discussed during your consultation.
Urgent: Seek immediate emergency medical care and contact the clinic if you experience severe swelling away from the site, a widespread rash, itching, or breathing difficulties, all of which indicate an allergic reaction.
Pre-Treatment Advice
• Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning supplements where appropriate for 2–3 days beforehand.
• Inform us of any allergies, particularly previous reactions to hyaluronidase or bee/wasp stings.
• Attend with clean, product-free skin.
Comprehensive pre-treatment instructions and suitability information will be provided after booking
Post-Treatment Advice
• Swelling, tenderness and bruising are expected and usually improve over several days.
• Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat and facial treatments for the recommended period.
• Filler continues to dissolve over the following two weeks before further treatment can be considered.
