Medical Toxin - Female
Doctor led aesthetic clinic, west midlands
What Is Medical Botulinum Toxin, and What Can It Treat?
Botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine that temporarily blocks communication between nerves and muscles or sweat glands. Whilst it is widely recognised for its cosmetic applications, it has also been used safely in medicine for many years to treat a variety of conditions by reducing excessive muscle activity, sweat production and abnormal nerve signalling.
At MPower Clinic, every treatment begins with a comprehensive doctor-led assessment to ensure treatment is appropriate, safe and tailored to your individual needs.
We currently offer treatment for:
Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating)
Targeted injections temporarily reduce excessive sweating by blocking the nerve signals that activate the sweat glands. Treatment is available for the underarms, palms, soles of the feet, scalp and upper lip.
Chronic Migraine
Carefully placed injections across specific muscles of the forehead, temples, back of the head, neck and shoulders help reduce the frequency and severity of chronic migraines in suitable patients.\
Trapezius Muscle Pain
Injections into the trapezius muscles help reduce excessive muscle contraction and tension, relieving discomfort and improving neck and shoulder pain associated with muscle overactivity.
What Should I Expect During Treatment?
Following your consultation, treatment is performed using a very fine needle and typically takes between 15–30 minutes, depending on the treatment area.
Hyperhidrosis treatment involves a series of small injections placed just beneath the skin across the affected area. Migraine treatment requires multiple injections across carefully selected muscles of the head, neck and shoulders. Most patients describe the treatment as mildly uncomfortable rather than painful, with any stinging sensation lasting only a few seconds.
There is minimal downtime, and most patients can return to their normal daily activities immediately. We'll also provide personalised aftercare advice to help you achieve the best possible outcome.
When Will I See Results and How Long Do They Last?
Results vary depending on the condition being treated.
For hyperhidrosis, improvement usually begins within 4–14 days, with reduced sweating typically lasting 6–9 months before treatment gradually wears off.
For chronic migraine, benefits usually begin within 1–2 weeks, although the full therapeutic effect may continue to develop over subsequent treatment cycles. Treatments are typically repeated every 12 weeks to maintain symptom control.
Trapezius Muscle Pain: Muscle relaxation usually develops over 4–14 days, with pain relief typically lasting around 3–4 months, although this varies between individuals.
As every patient responds differently, your treatment plan will be reviewed regularly to ensure the safest and most effective long-term management.
