What are MicroTox® and MesoTox®, and How Do They Work?
MicroTox® and MesoTox® are advanced skin rejuvenation treatments that use very small amounts of botulinum toxin placed into the superficial layers of the skin, rather than the underlying muscles.
Unlike traditional anti-wrinkle injections, which reduce muscle movement to soften expression lines, MicroTox® and MesoTox® are designed to improve the quality of the skin itself. By acting on tiny superficial muscle fibres, sebaceous (oil) glands and sweat glands within the skin, treatment helps reduce excess oil production, minimise enlarged pores, improve skin texture and create a smoother, brighter and more refined complexion.

MesoTox® delivers the product using multiple tiny intradermal injections, making it particularly useful for targeted areas requiring precise placement.
MicroTox® delivers the product using medical microneedling, creating thousands of microscopic channels that allow the botulinum toxin to be distributed evenly across larger treatment areas whilst simultaneously stimulating collagen production through the microneedling process.
Both techniques aim to improve skin quality whilst maintaining natural facial movement.
Who Is Suitable For MicroTox® / MesoTox®?
These treatments are suitable for patients looking to improve overall skin quality rather than dramatically changing facial movement.
They may be particularly beneficial for:

They are suitable for most healthy adults following a medical consultation. Treatment may not be appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding, if you have certain neurological conditions (such as myasthenia gravis), an active skin infection, allergy to botulinum toxin, or other medical contraindications.
What Results Can I Expect?
Unlike traditional anti-wrinkle injections, the aim of MicroTox® and MesoTox® is not to freeze facial movement but to gradually improve overall skin quality.
Many patients begin noticing smoother skin and reduced oil production within the first week, with continued improvements in pore appearance, skin texture and radiance developing over 2–4 weeks.
Results typically last around 3–4 months, although this varies depending on the individual, treatment area and metabolism.
These treatments are particularly effective when combined with a comprehensive skin health programme, including medical-grade skincare, skin boosters, regenerative treatments or chemical peels where appropriate.

Potential Side Effects
Normal: Mild redness, swelling, pinpoint bleeding, temporary bruising or mild tenderness at the treatment sites are common and usually settle within a few days.
Rare: Temporary asymmetry, localised weakness of very superficial muscles, prolonged bruising, headache, allergic reaction or a less-than-expected response to treatment.
Urgent: Contact the clinic immediately if you experience visual disturbance, increasing pain, spreading redness, significant swelling, fever or any signs of infection.
Pre-Treatment Advice
• Attend with clean skin where possible and avoid make-up if practical.
• Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning supplements where appropriate for several days beforehand.
• Inform your practitioner of any medical conditions, medications or recent aesthetic treatments.
• Do not attend if you are unwell or have an active skin infection, cold sore or acne flare within the treatment area.

Post-Treatment Advice
• Mild redness and swelling are expected and usually settle within 24–48 hours.
• Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area for the remainder of the day.
• Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat, saunas, steam rooms and swimming for 24–48 hours.
• Avoid active skincare products until your skin has recovered, and use a daily broad-spectrum SPF.
• Attend any recommended review appointments and maintenance treatments to optimise long-term skin quality.
